I tried playing with the photo-chop program for a while, and I just can't seem to work the damn thing. How did you guys learn? You just fiddled with it until you learned or what? I really want to do photo chops but I don't know how to use the program.

Um as for http://www.photoshopchop.com they do not have any tutorials such as yet, but the tool kit section is great for spare parts for a chop, or even asking for help in the forum is a good idea.

I can't trace using lasso with my mouse because it jumps around so much... so I prefer to use masking tool for this...

Hey thats why i said in my tutorial, right click on the lasso, and select polygonal lasso this way it dont really matter how bumpy your mouse is(BTW you should open it up and clean the gunk of the little rollers) you can always get a nice clean selection. Now thank you for appreciating my tutorial as it did take me about an hour to do. Thanks.

Yeah but still, drawing around the whole car, and then doing the same around the details do take a long time. I'll see if I have time, and then I'll post a tutorial by using masking tool. I bet you'll prefer this method more.

hahaha, you think selecting a car is time consuming, try cell shading. Now that is time consuming, also depends on how good you want it to look to.
Also, I didn't learn how to chop cars until after I started messing around with photoshop, making pics for the TLD website and shit. Then I came here and found the tuts and learned how to chop cars. You will find out, there are a bunch of different ways to do things, especially change the color of the car. I have yet to use Brock's method, right now I just use Edit>Adjust Image> and/or Color Balance, Hue & Saturation. I have also changed colors on cars by selecting the body of the car, creating a new layer via copy. Setting the new layer on Overlay, and then using the gradient tool to change the color. That is how I did the Explorer for the latest comp.

I know there are things that take way more time. I was saying, by comparison, my way of selection may take less time compared to the way to other guy suggested, and this tool is exactly designed for this. In other words, less time consuming relatively.
I'll post my tutorial now.
