I recently installed a new 360 Magnum engine in my Dodge 1999 Durango, everything is wired correctly and greased. oiled etc. For some reason the Engine will not start. The fan spins and it sounds like it is turning over, but no kick up. If I have not got the distributor set at TDC, for compression could this cause this type of problem? I placed my thumb over the cyclinder 1, and thought I noticed air being expelled. but am at a loss. Please advise

First, I wonder why you diddn't just buy one with a 360 in it.
Second, If you are expelling air from anywhere in your engine, that is a problem. You might not be getting any compression.

I suspect he pulled the plug and checked for compression on the cylinder.
I am having a similar problem after swapping out my 318. I have so far traced it to no spark, the coil is not being energized. Still trying to find out why.
