Some kid just about crashed infront of my house as he was 'trying' to drift. how sad... maybe he thinks understeering and flooring it to the point where he almost flys of the road is cool, i really dont know

Did you mean "oversteer" instead of understeer? it'd seem that understeer is almost the exact opposite of what drifting is?

I think he mean the oversteer. All the RX-7 I have ever seen are rear wheel driven. This causes the oversteer.

You can still understeer a RWD car, you just have to be going pretty fast to do it.

ive understeered in a rwd car a few times before, speed was a factor and also braking (hard) too early into the apex of a turn. :o
i cant remember the weather conditions but i think the road was slightly wet too...

huh? most front engined cars tend to understeer (whether or not they are rear wheel drive) the front weight bias causes the nose of the car to want to pull towards the outside of the turn.

i know how the laws of physics works, what i dont know is how the fuck i understeered in a rwd car.

look, we've already established the fact that he meant to say "oversteer", so can we get over it and focus on the main point of this thread now? that point being that this kid is a DUMBASS!! why would you even try drifting on a public road? keep it on the track. he probably was fresh from watching an episode of Initial D and thought he could be a super pro drifter on his first try. it's people like this who give our sport a bad name.

im not entirely sure what happened, i was watching it happen from a point on the middle of the turn... i cant remember what its called now...
okay the middle of the turn so it would be this part >(¯
anyways, he was going really fast and tried to drift around the corner, except he was going to fast so he started off in an understeer, then must have ebraked or something because the back swung out and he almost lost it
