Turbo wastegate question

Ok, I am looking at wastegates and need to know some info. Like say I buy a tial waste gate with a 9psi spring, what does that mean? It won't open till 9 psi? What if I am only running like 6psi, it won't open? Thanks, Doug

the wastegate is set at a certain PSI that when the turbo hits that PSI, it opens and doesnt let it go any higher. If you want to run 6psi, u need a 6 psi wastegate. I think you make a simple manual boost controller that will make it open at 6psi or something but im not sure.

doug, im assuming the turbo is in ur civic....., if so what sorta job is it cos im planning it for my ZC any info??

Hey, it's not on my civic yet. But I know almost anything you want to know about it. I've been at Redline High Performance so much I can put a turbo on my self. Just let me know what you want to know.
