i feel slow

went to the track last night and best i did was a 16.3, i was like the slowest car out there, next to the old ass buick with the drunk guys nefew driving and i think the 3000gt wasnt doin so hot either!:(

What altitude are you at? What were your 60's?

i was hittin like 85 mph before, but times were worse. that run i put up was alone becuz car that was supposed to go with me backed out during the rain delay we had(one of several) then again the only engine mod i have is CAI, so i guess i did ok. that and i cant start for shit :bloated:

Yeah, you should work on your starts. I've seen 2.2 60' times. I'm up at 5000 or so feet so thats what I expect to run (maybe a 15.9) with my hybrid intake and y-pipe, maybe a little lower with my new JWT ecu

what would be the best way for an automatic to start off the line without Neutral dropping it?

guy i was with was drivin a max and it used to me auto, i asked him bout power braking and said it wasnt worth a shit. i wouldnt do the drop thing either, that would fuck up ur tranny. i jus got to the line and hit the gas when the light changed. the guy i was with put a 5 speed in and has MEVI plus 100 shot of nitrous he was running last night and was gettin into the high 13's. i raced him my first drag ever, so easy to say he tore my ass to peices :smoka:

There is a guy on hte org with a 5spd 4thgen mevie and ypipe and ecu I think and runs 13.6 I think.

hes running strait stock exhaust too ;)

But isin't a Maxima of that year supposed to hit the high 15's stock??? Even for an auto?? :confused:

a wet track doesn't create the best conditions for racing...kinda hurts traction a little bit

we gotta 14.4 1/4 outta mine with just a wai and stillen cat-back. can't wait to go back this season now that i got my y. that's not a bad reaction time though. you probably lose all of that extra time while the car's shifting

Manually shift. 1(start-25) to 2(25-35) to drive(35-all the way up).

yeah and if the 4th gen auto's have the option, turn off o/d til you redline 3rd, then click it on.

well 1 my OD button hasnt worked since i owned the car, and i dont wanna do that manual shifting stuff. i almost redline without doin that, so it would be kinda worthless

Borbet wheels are pretty heavy, that's part of your problem.

Get yourself a Y-pipe, best bang for your buck power mod besides Nitrous.

even so, that is a damn slow time. if he puts a y on he'll still be running lower than the average max does stock(about a full second). why mod a car to get stock performance.

the wheels i have on there are actually lighter than the 15 mags that were on there. yea im pretty sure everything is running good. im gonna do a tune up and stuff here soon as i get the time and lil spare cash. ive got prom and shit next week so after than i can go back to workin on the max, im gonna get a ypipe first thing then start savin up for nitrous, new fuel pump and all that. would the weather have had anything to do with the night? it was kinda humid and it actually rained a few times and they would stop racing to dry the track and stuff. guy i went up there with was runnin a 99 max 5 speed with ypipe, mevi, 100 shot of nitrous and some other stuff and he jus broke into the 13's. ppl on org said he should be running like in the 12's easy. wat should i be runnin with an auto in the 1/4 mile? considering all i have is the CAI.

Are those the stock 15's? What kind of Borbets are they?

The lightest 17" Borbet I know of is the Type R @ 20 lbs. And taht is much heavier than the stockers.

i never had stock wheels, theres were american racing rims, if u go to my page u can see them on the older pics. i think the ones i have weight bout 25-30 piece maybe a lil more at least they dont seem that heavy to me.

nah, even my sig says 15.2 for a 5 speed. i'd say throw on a half a second or so for the auto. i think you should defintiely be sub 16's, though

im gonna go up there again soon and run again, i got some shitty starts so hopefully ill do better. another bad thing was that when i would start (specailly left lane) my tires would spin for a good 10-20 ft. i have no idea y, espcially with u all sayin they so heavy and all. would all the rubber on the track not be helping?
