For those of you of tender years,in 1992 Mr Rodney King,an African American was apprehended by police after a high speed chase after a string of traffic offences and given a beating by police.Unfortunately for the police, the entire assault was caught on videotape, and caused riots in Los Angeles when it was made public.
Mr.King went from being a criminal to being a victim overnight, and sued the city.He was awarded $3.8 million by the jury.Did he learn anything from the experience? You be the judge.......

Rodney King has been in trouble with the law multiple times since his beating. And to make a correction, the LA Riots weren't caused by him being beaten, they started b/c of the officers who beat him were found inocent.

I know this may sound kinda immature and stupid of me to say, but Im going to say it anyways. When I first read about him running into whatever it was he ran into, I laughed. Simply for the fact that if you are going to be going 100mph through TRAFFIC you deserve whats coming to you. And you know what else? I bet he'll do it again.

Stupid is as stupid does...
Kind of makes the case for the cops beating him in the first place, doesn't it?! He obviously needs more sense beaten into him!

I'm in two minds about this one.Clearly the cops failed in their duty to 'protect and serve' by beating him up,but his subsequent payout and continued offending do appear to highlight the inefficiencies of the justice system. If he knew that the punishment for driving like an asshole was a hiding, rather than a big fat payout, maybe he wouldn't have reoffended.:D
