2004 17 " ss tires dont fit 2002

yep its a classic case of BIGGER IS BETTER !!--i bought tires & rims from LKQ on ebay 17 " 235-55R17 DALE EARNHART EDITION for 2004 monte carlo ss supercharged 3.8...im trying to fit onto my 2002 monte carlo LS 3.4....NEEDLESS TO SAY 17 " tires rub the bottom of the struts in the rear end both left & right (no im not doing 17s up front)...so now im on a quest to find the matching struts (FE4 SUSPENSION FOR 2004) TO MAKE THE 17 " TIRES WORK BUT most strut makers dont supply the ones that do "IMPLY" that their said strut is listed for supercharged but then they throw in all the other models also like LS, SS..which makes me leary of purchasing.. aint cheap 140-160 $ strut & spring assembly..so can i use an FE3 or FE4 strut from 2006 ?? on my 2002?? note monte production was 2000-2005..then update new version 2006-2008/09?

also to add to this-- 2006-- FE1 SUSPENSION FOR 3.5 motor/16 "wheels....FE2 for 3.9 motor/17 " wheels....FE3 FOR IMPALA SS 5.3 MOTOR/18 wheels....FE4 for monte carlo ss 5.3 motor/18" wheels...does anyone have any rear struts from a 3.9 or 5.3 for sale im interested in low mileage struts...thanx --jc--
