02 Civic Si problems?

Thinking about test driving one. I've seen a lot of them advertised with relatively low mileage. Has anyone heard of any problems with the car?

It's a Honda, and a Civic at that, there will be very few problems with them for many many years.

The only problem I see is the hp/trq out put for the price. Other than that no.

how is 15,700 a bad price for the hp/tq combo...better than yours.

Back to the subject. I haven't had any problems with mine at all.

I only have a SRI and HP Exhaust right now for performance.

For suspension I have a RSX rear sway, rear strut bar, rear tie bar, and progress springs...no problems at all. I have about 15,000 miles

Sorry but i've killed many a 02 Si's for much less than 10k.:rolleyes: Better.......I think not.

160 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 132 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm all for 15,700. One word to sum it all up....PATHETIC

if you want a civic SIs are nice, if you want a small car SIs are nice... if you want a sports car... why are you buying an SI?

i don't have a problem with them, hell, its one of the cars i might be taking a look at in 3 years when i'll be getting a new one.... you just can't think it's gonna be super fast or anything.

There's the stat's on my D16Z6 and yeah I did build a better car for less.
Don't get all hostile with me. It's a fact. What did my car cost brand new? Who cares? I didn't buy brand new and never would. A better question is how much all these people, buying they're brand New Si, are losing as soon as they drive it off the lot. My car may be a shit box but it's a shit box with a better engine than his and your shit box.

Okay, you calculate how much it would cost to do that and what times I'd run. Then justify wasting all that damn money.

Which is better? It's all a matter of opinion. IMO if I beat a 02 Si and pay half the price. Yes, a b16 is better. Compare the K20 and b16 in my car? Never been done so until then YOU don't even know what will lay down better times. yea ok thats at the flywheel put em on a dyno i bet the k20 puts more to the wheels cuz its newer..less miles yea.....and stock for stock a new si would have beat your d16z6 powered si, but you have a swap lets put the type s motor in the si see who wins

Drive train loss is not affected much, if at all, by mileage or how new a car is. Especially since they're both front wheel drive. You're really reaching deep with all this Type S swap talk. I made my point.

yeah, it is matter of opinion, we could sit here all day and say which car is better. I owned a 97 EX. The chassis was basically the same as the 99-00 Si's. I like the new si right away because it felt more solid. Unfortunetly the car is way heavy. I weigh 185...and when I went to the track I weighed the car with me in it....2905lbs! Crazy shit. So you got a swap...big deal :smoker2: I almost did that on my later EX. But truthly I beat 99-00 Si's all them time. Even when they have i/h/e...maybe they suck I don't know. Just because I beat them, I know that doesn't mean I can beat everyone in the early Si...shit is different everywhere you go. If you are buying a new car...the new Si is worth imo. You get a lot for about 15,500. When they first starting selling them for 19...I was like...uh, no, not worth it, I'll wait till the dealership stops taking that crack!

depends on your definition of serious power :) I'm not to sure about what's out there for yours. But anything is possible...but it may be a big headache and a lot of money, if there are even enough parts out there for you engine.
