Alright guys, i just got my honda civic, its a 1998 LX 4 door sedan and i really like it. BUt i need to pimp it out, see all these guys we are racing and they have really fast cars, and i need to top 500 hp fast like in a 1 - 2 years, so i would appreciate if you could tell me what i should do to my car, i cant sell it because my rents just bought it and that comes to my second problem, they have been paying for my car now i have to pay 309 a month, does someone have an idea for me, and my car is auto. SO if you could help me out on finding a job or some way to get money and all that i should do to my car then i would greatly appreciate that.

you're gonna need alot of money to build up your car to 500hp. if you want alot of horses fast, I would consider doing an engine swap, (expensive) and building up that motor. I mean, you can build up your motor now, but you won't get to 500 horsepower easily.

O_o
It's an auto? I have only seen one automatic tranny outdo a manual and it was custom built, so you are going to want to change that if you want to race it, which will be spendy. And yes an engine swap is your best bet. Also I hope you have a lot of money.

On a side note;

If you are trying tp pull 500+ HP, you may want to look at other things as well, such as new wheels "for five lugs rahter than four," better brakes "do you have drums in the back?," and better suspension.

Like I said, I hope you have lotsa' green.

Ok well, to get you started on some small stuff until you get some cash.

1. Replace your intake with like a K&N FPTK or something like that.
2. Chip it, nothing cheaper than the chip.
3. Replace the exaust, and I don't mean a catback. I would suggest getting the entire thing replaced with a turbo exaust system. So you could put a turbo on later, unless you want a supercharger. I prefer the turbo, you get much better gas mileage.
4. Replace the spark plugs, distrubutor, and cords.

These are some small things you can do right now, for bigger stuff later. They are all relativly inexpensive except for the exaust, which will most likely cost more than a grand.

Honestly, unless you are gonna go hardcore racing, you don't need 500 horses. If this will be your daily drive, I suggest an all motor setup. (no forced induction) It'll be more reliable, and you will still get decent power. If you really really want more power than that you can get a turbo, But honestly, there is no way to do it cheap. if you want a crazy race car, be prepared to spend as much as you spent to buy the car

500 in a civic is quite a hefty amount of horses there. What exactly are you trying to beat? Racing ytou also have to take weight into aconsideration. The civics a light car so it doesnt take as much to get goin. What kind of racing do you plan on doing? You might want to look into taking things off like power steering and AC for cheap speed boosts. Less weight = better acceleration. and taking things out is cheaper than utting things in. :)

You're 15 going on 16 who wants a 500hp civic? Ok. You need to rethink this for a minute. Assuming you can figure a way to get some money to even produce a rare monster civic, you probably kill yourself and a few others around you with that kind of power. Planning on street racing without any experience or training at high horsepower and high speeds is going to be disastrous. Get some real world driving experience and then work on getting or building a fast street machine.

Dude - one year of driving at night illegally does not make you experienced. I have a feeling you may be suffering what all teenagers have. The "I know everything and am invincible" syndrome. You aren't the first youngster to believe they can handle something (or everything) like this - and you wont be the last. Just think of how smart and how much you thought you knew when you were ten. Would you believe that ten year old telling you the same shit now? I would hope not. Well, this is the same thing. You dont know any better because your still a puppy and need more experience. Like I said before, give it few more years. You'll be glad you did in the long run.

Yah, for the first few years of my license, I had that. I thought I had balls drivin so aggressively. i grew out of it, and now that I look back on it, I did some stupid stuff behind the wheel

I used to have that problem as well when I first got behind the wheel, and then I got in an accident, then I realized I was a crappy driver. After doing some actual racing and getting a lot of driving experience I am better for it.

I would say, take these guy's advice and wait. You would be amazed and how driving a 500 HP beast can amke you loose control extremely quick. Wait until you are 19, 20, or older before you even think of driving a car like that.

If you want to go faster, then save your money a buy the Greddy Turbo kit you can get it for about $1600, Then youll need clutch and stuff too.

Take it from me and my suspended license and I am only 17. What do you have to prove, your dick is smaller then the guy with the faster car....I quit hardcore racing, I drive a 4 wheel drive SUV and thats good enough.

If your dumb enough, just reubild the motor, slap in a 300 shot of nitro, cost you about 4-5 grand and you can beat all those guys....but good luck with your car working after the race is over.

My friend just got a new GSR I can understand your need for speed, its fun and all, but it has its certain extents and limits...keep it on the track and Racing Kills

To get to 500 horses you can't just do motor work. you'd basically have to strip the thing down to the frame and rebuild it with only the necessities. That would cost alot, because you'd have to get alot of parts custom made to be lighter.

JBL85
11-03-2001, 02:33 AM
Not really, just get it blue printed and use light weight parts that are already made for the car since it is a civic, they make every part for it... and then drop a turbo and intercooler, a boost gauge, you can get enough horse to smoke a corvette, but only if the civic can grab the floor, so 300hp would only be necessary probably, but also need about 300lbs of torque

Swonder67
11-03-2001, 08:09 AM
with such a light car and 300lb of torque, you're gonna be spinning your wheels at the line for about 5 minutes

JBL85
11-03-2001, 03:31 PM
naw, just put some of em big racing tires on so it grabs the floor good =) and make sure they are those realllly big kind :D :D

Maybe around 20g's... youll just need a built b18 or H22, and a big turbo, but its completely possible...Given that you do the work yourself.

If you put 500hp in a civic and you aren't even 16 you are going to kill your self or some one else plus to get that much horse power will cost a hell of a lot money just do minor things for the moment unless you really want power than get a new engine.
