'98 rodeowiper problem

wiper comes on for a minute when turn on car when i hit the switch the wipers stay on only a minute help

The wiper motor is probably bad. There is an internal circuit breaker that can reset itself after it cools. This is why it works for a second or two and stops. The motor is worn out and is drawing too much power.
