That commercial kicks ass. Someone posted a link for it in the 88-91 Civic/CRX forum. Very very cool that they did it all in one camera shot. I would really like to see the 30 minute chain-reaction movie made using the same principles that the commercial was based on.

I JUST saw that link like yesterday. I closed the page before I remembered to copy and paste it up here. :o I've always LOVED that type of thing. VERY cool.

Yeah, me too...

I used to have a book of Rube Goldberg "inventions", which, although they were pretty ubsurd some times, it was always fun to figure out how the chain reaction would work.

Used to spend HOURS on that game..or at least my brothers did. I only got through the first 5 or so levels.

Quite simple and logical when you think about it.As Scotty would say,"You cannae change the laws of physics,Cap'n..."

Clearly the angle of the ramp is too steep for the momentum of the first wheel to carry up to the top.So....how about if you unbalance the three climbing wheels by securing a large weight inside the tire at the 'twelve o'clock' position.?

The momentum of the first tire is sufficient to tip the subsequent wheel off-balance,and the gravity working on the extra weight is converted into a linear movemont of half a turn of the wheel, with sufficient conservation of momentum to unbalance the next wheel in the row.Of course,it's only good for half a turn, which is why there are three wheels on the slope.

and yes,it's an awesome ad.:bandit:

-RaceMySS The board is cut to accomodate the window. You can see it clearly from the reverse angle. Watch the tires as they lose momentum and rock back to a stop. It's all real.:)

Yup - after watching the whole thing a few times, I know its real. I see no laws of physics being violated. The tire one is pretty slick :) I just wonder how many times they had to set it up and film it to get it all in one shot.
