I have a 93 prelude with shaved doors, i wanted to completely remove the door handle from the inside and remove the door console where i have the window swithces and so on.. but i don't know how i can run a switch to the door solenoid and to a power source withou getting too much power to burn the solenoid? any one got ideas?

dont door pop solonoids(sp?) run off of 12v. just go to napa and radioshack and get push botton switches that are on when you are holding the button down only., get some accessory relays and run the switch so the switch opens the relay and thre relay sends them the power, cuz the spolonoid might take too much juice running straight from switch and fry it, about frying the solonoid, seems like it should just take normal 12v from the battery. if not, dont do it like I said. did you install the door pop kit yourself, if so then you should be able to easily figure it out, cuz you know how they work. one of the reasons Ive done everything to my cars myself.

I wouldn't do that if you loose your battery there will be no way to open your door at all not even from the inside. At least with inside handles you can crawl threw the trunk and open the door that way. Trust me I have shaved door handles and I've had to crawl through my hatch many times to get my car started, your idea sounds cool but I'd think twice about it

Thanx for the info, as far as crawling through the trunk been there, i got scars to prove it. But i have taken the solenoid and i have done it so it pops out on cue, has not failed in 3 years. Trust me the last thing i need is crawling through the back, although my trunk is sealed for my boom. I have thought of the relay thing but what relay should i use? 35 or 40??? these solenoids have proven to be tough but they are still sensitive components.

I don't know about all that fasheezy, lol. It sounds like a cool idea and I was thinking if you hooked up some way to pop your hood from the out side so just in case your battery goes dead you can still hook up the battery. I don't know jack about wiring though so someone else will have to help you out with that

i dont think that might be a good idead because if the button shorts out your stuck but then again its your ride. good idea on removing the inside door handles and locks that way no one can break in =)
