Ok its that time of the year, need the AC to work.
So I turn it on and...hu nada! WTF? the compressor is on but no AC?
ok go to advanced auto parts picked up an AC recharge kit.
Filled it up with the stuff till the gauge said it was ok. and tada cold air!
but wait! what the hell is this!? now when I'm driving the compressor kicks on and off. on, off, on, off. what the hell is this?
Ok so I check the pressure? its ok. so I say screw it so I release some of the gas and tada, the dam thing works!
ok now I know my Eclipse a bit old (1997) but what gives.
any ideas? should I hire an exorcist?
Thanks
Shah

Either your compressor is going bad, or the system might need to be flushed. Not to positive, but that's what came to mind. Good luck

here is the deal, before i bought the car, the car sat for a year in a garage. it was tuned on every now and then but the AC was probably never turned on. you think that maybe the fluids sitting like that for a year could have seperated?
now this flush buisness. easy cheasy or should i leave it to a garage to take care are it?
Thanks

I would take it to a shop to have it flushed correctly. They've got the correct tools & a way to contain the released air(freon?). Check to see if the shop has BG products. They can get rid of all the bacteria & contaminants in your lines. It sounds like the system just has old stuff in it.

When you charged it, you probably filled it too much...I'm guessing the high pressure cutout was kicking it off..they have high and low pressure safety cutouts...you say it works now??
