I am trying to find out the size of my dics brakes,

I have gone to Honda over the road, and they fed me some shite about my car being "too old"

it is a 1988 civic (D13B1) 1.3 DX, 3 door hatch, (UK model)

i want to know so i can buy some drilled and grooved for it, does anyone know where i CAN get this info from ??

wot bit do u measure?, coz i wont get an accurate measurement using a tape measure coz of the centre of the disc is raised, ?

Do you mean the front or back? Cuz i'm almost positive the front disc's are 9.6 in and i think (just think, not certain) that the rear is 7.? inches. Ill try to go find out for sure and get back to you.

LOL, i forgot you dont have a CRX, or even and Si for that matter, so i guess you ony have front. So yeah like i said, it should be 9.6, unless the 1.3 have smaller front discs, but i doubt it. But ill still find out for ya.

Well wouldn't you be able to go to a parts store and ask about replacement rotors and find out that way...

You don't need Slotted or Drilled "Vented" discs unless you are running brake pads from the 1960s.

*BUMP*, OK do any of the USDM civics come with NON vented front rotors, if they did wot size were they ???

Someone must know:(

Dude..ALL front brakes on Hondas are vented...The "vented" part is the gap between the inside and outside surface of the disc, which allows for faster dissipation of heat. Often, the rear disc will be a solid non-vented, since it only needs to take about 20% of the stopping load, but the front always is. At least on every 4th gen Honda I've seen. Here is a pic to help....

I think USDM Civics are 9.3 inch discs...however, the EX sedan has 10.2 inch up front, which is what the 90-93 Teg comes with. A 13" wheel will not fit over the 10" discs, which is one reason why the EX has 14" wheels/tires.

Whoa...well..sorry then..I don't know how to help you :(

I didn't think anyone still built cars with non-vented front rotors... - why can't you get vented rotors? As long as the basic construction (wheel stud spacing/lug measurements, etc..) are the same..a vented rotor could then be an upgrade :D

because vented ones are thicker so the caliper wont fit, i may just buy some 1.6 16v ones like i had before and buy new calipers too, :)
