Bush'll say they're lying and probably run in with a lot of tanks
If he does I won't be supporting any such war its gone far enough with Iraq.
The Arab nations need to sort it out for themselves

If that resolution passes, several middle eastern nations will want to go into Isreal and remove their nuclear weapons. I think everyone knows they have them alhough they have never admitted it.
I am not saying that pursueing a process to eliminate all the weapons is not a worthwhile task. I am suggesting that it would be better served if the nations in that area did it amongst themselves instead of through a third party (the UN). The US and Soviet Union/Russia handled weapons reduction without having to go through anyone else. Nobody else could enforce those types of things on these nations. Unless Isreal (and all the other nations there) agree to the framework to eliminate all those weapons, it will just not happen. This is another case where the UN will probably stand up and make demands that are of no value.

I can't see Israel disarming itself of the nukes it has, so either this will die before it gets rolling or become yet another political nightmare in the Middle East. People can blame the "Zionist" evil in the region for the fact that everyone will still have these weapons, which is actually pretty brilliant when you think about it because then any future talks of invasion by anyone can be blamed on Israel.
I guess the Zionists really are taking over the Middle East.

Seems to me that since both sides still have massive stocks of WMD's,that arrangement was purely cosmetic.

Syria is afraid of the US, and the intentions of the US. Judging by recent events, this is a fairly reasonable reaction to any accusations, condemnations, warnings, or comments coming from Washington, directed at Syria.
Read the news . . . and I mean read VARIED sources . . . lots of em. Syria is attempting to appear as a peace benefactor in the Mid-East . . . probably for at least two reasons BESIDES saving their own hides from Mr. Bush.
It would seem to me that Syria wants to turn the world's attention to Israel, mostly . . . and their cache of WMD's that they been able to maintain (with US backing??).
It's a chess game between Syria and the US at this point (US has the next move) . . . you may remember the most recent global chess game.
Saddam lost . . .

While its true that there are still more then enough weapons to turn the planet into a parking lot, it did relieve a lot of tension in the world and has reduced the stockpiles when our countries took those steps. I just use it as an example of how the interested parties were able to work things out for themselves without whining like children to the UN.
