i am getting a nissan but dont know which i am going to get since the skyline is sooo damn expensive. anyone have any suggestions?

As you are interested in the Skyline tho, I'd say get a 240sx and drop in a SR20DET or a RB25DET.

yeah and it depends on where your livin' at. are you stuck with the usdm nissans or can you get the jdm beasts?

i live in cali, and i would probabley want 4 door but it dont matter. but i dont want 2 seater. i dont really care about the price range right now just not something like a 80 thousand dollar skyline cause you have to import it. and im looking for a good car to put rims body kit etc.. i want it to look tight.

get a used 4th gen maxima.

g35 sedan 6 speed...get the 18's from the coupe, and the supercharger is supposed to be out in June. we're talking about 400 hp in a RWD lux-sprot sedan. fuck yeah!!

hell man, if u have money to mod out ur car, jus stick with a 4th gen max with low mileage engine or maybe jus get a new one dropped in there and jus go crazy on it :D

one more thing, wtf is up with bunch of ppl makin up skyline names on here, jus like all a sudden?

greddy already has a TT setup available. i saw it on super2nr on the 350Z. it's gotta be sick man

they're not fast. i smoked one by like 2 cars. why spend 22,000 on a se-r then spend 4000 on a turbo when you can spend >$8,000 on a 4th gen then turbo that and be running circles around the se-r. not to mention mustangs and corvettes and some porsches

Like they mentioed go get a G35 sedan or coupe 6spd and SC or TT and you got one fast beast. In Japan the G35 is know as the Skyline V35. So u technicly have a skyline if u get a G35 like I did. Or you can get a new 04 Max and aslo get a SC or TT on that. They both are using Vq35 engine and both are beast with a TT or SC setup.

4th gen's are OK, but personally I hate rear beam suspensions. I bought a 3rd gen for a few reasons:

Ind. rear suspension
Stock VLSD transmission (92-94 SE)
Decent power, 190 hp (92-94 SE)
Better build quality than a 4th gen
Cheaper to buy, and insure (Mine is paid off baby!)
And IMO, better looking. But that is subjective. :cool:

But I'll tell you this right now, if you are serious about performance, FWD is not the way to go. FWD sucks!

Personally I'd buy a 240sx coupe (around ~1991 maybe) and throw a SR20DET in that sucker. There are more performance modifications for a S13 240 than you can imagine. And lots of Z parts (LSD, 5-lug hubs, brakes, wheels etc) can be used as well.

yea there is a very nice 240 on ebay right now. i talked to him and he wants lots of money for it tho( look for it its the yellow one, if its still there)

they say it puts out around 480 hp. shit is no joke

Better check it out then. I read on some 350Z forum that the VQ35 is close to being at the maximum power it can get This means that many mods can actual give u less hp at low end but like 5-10 hp at the hight end. It the low end where it counts the most for most of us. When Nissan said that they are gonna make the 350Z it was projected to have 300hp and the G35 coupe to have 385 and the sedan to have like 270hp but they could not get the engine to get 300 so they got it close as possible. If I can find the link I will post it. But that not pleasent news to hear that if I and other with the newer VQ35 do mod ours car it might actaully decrease performance.

'04 maxima looks sooooo ugly. As people said, get a G35 4 door 6 speed, and drop TT in it. Dont get S/C you will have more problems with S/C than with TT. Maybe you wont have problems with either one because its VQ35 engine. But if I would be you, and Im not, I would work my ass off to save money for the Skyline. So what its 80k bucks. Its the ultimate beast on the road. Work your ass off man, and get a 99 R-34 GTR Skyline V-Spec 2

Don't get me wrong, the Skyline is nice but for 80K, I'd take a 427/Z06 or C5 Corvette and drop a Turbo or even a 175 shot of Nitrous in it and be every bit as fast if not even faster than the more expensive Skyline, the Vette IMO is still the best bang for the buck.

Nothing else N/A comes close to it (Vette) for the money, when you're talking power, performance, legendary status and sex appeal. Trust me on this, you'll pick up more chicks in a Vette than you would in a Skyline because most women don't know what a Skyline is in this country.
