hey people, I was just looking around JDMcars.com, and i was going thru the engines that they have for sell. And im not really educated well with what kind of swaps 4gens are able to go thru. What kinds of B-Series engines can be swapped in the sedan 91 LX ? and is this able to be swapped in ? B16 Civic Type-R ? .. i dunno, it had that red valve cover on it that cought my eye.. i like red :p But if u guys could, name the B-series engines that could be swapped in my ride ? thanks in advance guys !

Every b-series can fit in your car. ITs the same procedure as we do on our crx or 4th gen hatchie. Go here for more info www.hasport.com:)

If all you want is the red valve cover just get a cheap ass B16A and buy the valve cover.;)

yea, no matter what i get , i'll get a red valve cover. But since i can fit any b series engine in , i'll get that too ! Any one know if the Type R b-series is a good engine ? im not looking for hard core racing engine. But a engine that picks up and accelorates good. And one that i can dress up well. :)

Uh...I don't think the Type-R is worth the extra money..If you want what you said you want, a regular run-of-the-mill b16a will suit you just fine I think.

91zc has one in his DX sedan and runs about a 14.8 in the 1320. Your heavier LX sedan weighs only 30 lbs. more than an Si Hatchie, so you can figure times to be pretty close to one of those.

this got me thinking i'm getting ready for a swap in a few months my plan is a blown LS-Vtec and i was thinking being a cheapass (i wish i'm just broke) grab a LS motor and tranny for now save up yank the motor turn into a ls vtec/upgrade the motor for boost while its out also get some gears and a ITR final drive for the tranny then save up for blower sound good?

well i meant for what im looking for. Would you guys consider the Type-R B16 to be strictly a racing engine ?

I personally think that the "smartest" swap for a any 4th gen civic/2nd gen rex is the 1st gen B16 with the LSD tranny.

The B16B(CTR) isn't just a race a engine. But if you want the most bang for your buck the B16B isn't it. It's more for bragging rights because the swap is so rare. You want a good, dependable daily driver, show engine with power without having to do extensive work. The B18C5 or B18C (JDM ITR) is what you want.

- I did now ;) I was looking through the prices, Im happy with that. Me and my dad can install it our selves. He's one of them engine people  and i know the basics. Its $1,850.00 + how much ever the S&H is to send to G.A. ( thats including the LSD Tranny for $300,hasport mount kit for $350 and the hasport linkage for $50 ) So thats what i'll do when ever im done with everything else !
.. Now i gotta total up how much more money i will need to finish this project...

( i might as well live in my car :p )
