You can smooth out your ride a few different ways. Check out Autoloc for some decent kits. What ride are u shaving out. Just door handles?

If you can do body work or have friends who can help you , I think it's a little more fun. I bought a Beretta GT years ago (my 2nd car). I all ways wanted one because the door handles look shaved . I ended up getting in an accident and paid a guy I met in the body shop, at the dealership that I detailed at, to paint the whole car. He was cool. I gave him $1000 and he shaved out all the side body moldings, smoothed out all prev. blems and sprayed it Sherwood Pearl Green

okay so earlier today i removed all the emblems from my car (chevy bowties, cavalier, and chevrolet) and i'm wondering about taking the molding off now...i used some trusty old 12lb fishing line to get off the emblems and they came off perfectly and just had to scrub a bit to get all of the sticky crap off...but if i take the side molding off what can i expect? is it gonna clean up okay or am i gonna have noticable lines?

When I took the moldings off my Beretta, there were little holes I had to fill because the moldings clipped on. You should try to find out if yours are stick on or clip on. If they stick, you should be able to clean them right up, no painting. Also under the moldings was even w/ everything and the sheet metal was smooth on the Beretta......but when I did my Mustang the side body moldings were recessed and I had to use filler to make smooth after removing them. In both cases I was painting the whole car so it didn't matter and I filled, sanded and smoothed whatever needed it. The end result always looks clean and cool. If you want to do your door handles , remove handles tack sheet metal under opening and fill , sand and smooth it. Obviously you will have to line up some paint work. Also order and install Auto loc door shave kit or similiar item...these systems are not that difficult to install and come with everything you need including fairly explicit instructions (although they can be a lil' mo' expensive then using ol' cadillac trunk poppers out of the bone yard). I think they are worth it. Take a look, see what you have to do, and if you want to smooth it all the way defly consider getting the car painted(custom body/ custom color :D Sorry so long , trying to be thorough.......good luck!!
