what does everyone have cell phone wise? i have the motorola v60i i love flip phones

For those of you that aren't familiar with my phone, basically it is an aging phone, a real pain in the ass.. well let me call an orange an orange: basically it's a piece of shit :silly2: But in two weeks, I will have had my plan with Verizon for two years, and I get a $100 credit towards a new phone, at which time I will pick up another single piece phone (I don't trust flip phones' durability - during my first seven months on my plan, I destroyed TWO Motorola Startacs).

And I hear you Porsche, I used to hate cell phones, and in some ways I still do. I resisted them for a long time, and I was among the last of my friends to break down and get one. So hey, keep fighting the good fight!!! :cool:

i have the Samsung M100 Uproar. yes, the one with the 64MB MP3 player built into it. it's still pretty damn kool, but it's starting to get big compared to some of the phones now on the market.

Clear Motorola Nextel i95 with a blue lit battery and buttons. Actually, it is my friends, but I wish I owned it...

-calendar/alarm/planner functions
-internet access
-voice dial
-speaker phone
-email service
-downloads available
-multi-tone rings (basically a midi sequence for rings instead of stupid beep beep beep)
-Detailed phone book (IE birthday, email, multiple numbers for one entry, special ring tone, groups, and pretty little pictures for each person)
-Coolest thing.. 2 different vibrate speeds. When it's on silent, it vibrates slower so that it doesn't make as much noise. :)
-Blue light up keys (better contrast)
-Camera attachment
-Picture sharing
-Memo pad
-Calculator
-World time map

I think that's about it... pic of the phone itself.. Yes, it's a rich bitch toy. :) That's why I love it so much.

I use to have that phone..but my mom has it now and i have a new plan trough T-Moble....I like it a lot better....

Oz.. part of my reasoning for getting my phone was because it would save me from having to get a palm pilot. (Even though I'm getting a palm pilot soon anyways.. I'm waiting for the one with the digicam in it). You have to understand.. I love James Bond type gadgets and stuff. You forget I'm Charlie's Lost Angel. :D

LG DM510 hopefully to be replaced with LCD phone soon. My service is Verizon, IMO, by far the best company, everyone I know with all the other companys has signal weaknesses quite often.

I ditched my home phone for a cell.

I got an alcatel one touch view db.

Its a useless phone, with no features, except sms. Atleast its almost unbreakable.

Its a nice phone alot more sturdy then i first though and its nice just wish it had a button to pick up on the out side instead of haveing to open it to answer. The Phone and Camera was free so i have no complants here!!! good phone!!

It would be next to impossible to ban cells phones. Business people live and work by them 24 hours a day. I'm sure millions of dollars are transferred in the form of orders via cell phones daily.

cell phones bring in millions of dollars DAILY. If you've ever been to a big city you see thousands of them. When we went to Buffalo there were 12 year olds with them. And they dont just use them for crap..

sometimes cell phones can be 1/2 the price monthly as normal phone bills. -> the reason my phone line (private for my room @ home) is forewarded to my cell..

My boycotting has nothing to do with the usefulness of the Cell Phone, I 100% agree it's changed the world for the better, it's just that how many people out of 10 have them at this point? I'm guessing the number is somewhere around half for most places, higher and lower for some places, take Finland and and a 3rd world country for example.

I don't currently have an responsiblity that I feel requires a cell phone, maybe I should have one just in case I get stuck with my friends in a car or something, but I'll bet $10 at least 2 of my friends in that car will have a cell.

I agree, some people need them, but most of them don't. What's the use of calling someone just to say you're sitting in a train on the way home. That's annoying, most of the phonecalls are pointless, maybe because cell phones are a product of modern wealth.

A question to learn how people in other countries use their phones: For what purpose do you use your cell phone?

Samsung I300 Palm phone( getting rid of it now that I have the kyocera)
LGVX4400( pretty nice phone also)
I also have an old bag phone plugged into my fax machine. I work for Verizon Wireless so I have a good reason to have many phones.

cell phones bring in millions of dollars DAILY. If you've ever been to a big city you see thousands of them.

Try hundreds of millions a day. The corporate sales channel of Verizon Wireless covering one(two state) region brings in a million a day.

JD, How in God's name did you pull THAT off???? I've had my Startac Timeport for over 2 years now, and granted it doesn't look so sexy any more as the paint is chipping from being dropped, but it still works just as good as day 1. I keep looking for a new phone, but I don't want a full flip next time. I'd rather have a phone that just has a flip over the keys b/c all the "new" flip phones are just so... so... I don't like them AT ALL. :( I'm picky about my cell.

The Motorola startac is only good for about 50,000 minutes before it gives up. I have been through 6 or eight in the last two 1/2 years. Also the antenna design on them is stupid as hell they break every two weeks.

Their are better quality flip phones on the market than motorola! Try a samsung or LG.

LG battery lives SUCK. I'm picky, like I said. But as I already said, I've had my Timeport since April of 2k1 I think and it rarely causes me any trouble. Still have my original antenna (although slightly ascue b/c of my stupidity) and I haven't turned it in for any sort of service yet. :D

LG battery lives SUCK.

First of all the LG battery is the same capacity as the 8767 that you use. If that is not enough than you get the extended battery which doubles the capacity. Motorola does not offer a larger battery than the one that comes with it.

I used to be a hard core motorola fan, but when you deal with phones as much as I do you tend to find some quirks in all of them.
