is it possible???

Is it possible to put a shelby cobra engine in a 2003 mustang gt? Wouldnt the wiring be a huge problem? If it is even possible anyone have an estimate on how much something like that would cost? Has anyone even heard of this done? Give me some info thank you!

Sure anything can be done with enough time and money. I don't think wiring would be a mess since you would be putting an older carb motor with a lot less electronics in, you could just ditch the whole computer system if you wanted. But if you didn't then you would have to worry about the computer of the car, and all the components that are no longer in use causing problems.

IMO it's not worth the hassle. Not to mention the tough emissions testing on the newer vehicles. If you want to transplant a motor, look into the 03 Cobra motor or the lightning motor. An 03 Cobra motor would kick so much more and be a lot easier to do, an emissions legal as well.

It can be done, i know in some areas they don't even do emissions testing here in Utah there are some areas wher emissions testing isn't done, besides if you want to put a 428 in it that would kick ass if it were the GT 500 engine that is otherwise go with the 03 Cobra engine if u can't use the 428. Also there should be enough room because physically the MOD motors are actually larger than big blocks my Dad made the measurements because he was thinking of putting a 4.6 in a 66 mustang but the 4.6 was way too wide.

I'd go with the 03 Cobra with $5,000!! :D Oh man that would kick!!

4.6 03 Cobra motor with 5k worth of mods?

or a 5.8 with 5k worth of mods?

We're talking:

4.6 DOHC @ 390 hp base
vs
5.8 OHV @ 300 hp base?

And you think the 5.8 will come out on top?
