Hello.
I hope that I am posting this in the correct area of AUTOMOTIVE FORUMS.
I think it would be neat if you all would reply with your experiences at the parts counter. Like the old Clint Eastwood movie they could be GOOD, BAD & UGLY. Keep it clean.
I have had mostly good experiences my local parts houses.

The one that stands out for me is when I ordered some exhaust pieces from my local AZ store. I did my usual internet search, took the printouts to AZ store they orderd them in. When I went to check out the checkout computer would not bring up the price for the tailpipe. The counter guy tried several times to bring it up. He got frustrated at the computer, not me and finally told me that it looks like AZ does not stock that tailpipe and for me to get it off of his counter. Nice freebe. Great customer relations. I now check there first when I need parts..
Lets here your stories..

Back when I ran a truck and equipment fleet, I had a great relationship with a great parts shop. They were well-equipped and could get almost anything. They had many suppliers and were willing to investigate to look for unusual stuff and were great for recommendations.

But for the last few years, the closest parts shop to me is Canadian Tire, which is terrible for parts. The guys at the counter know nothing, and if the application is not listed in their ancient computer system, they have no idea about what to do.

Stories???? 20 years ago I worked for a GM dealership where the parts manager ran a frequently-less-than-legal firearms distribution business from the dealer parts counter.
