Yippie, woo-hoo! I get to spend 6 hours of my life testing! Actually, I really need to do good on this to get into the college I want to go to, so I have to try hard on this. Does anyone else remember taking their ACT? How was it and what can I expect? Im just kinda dreading it, hoping I can do good on it. well, I guess it's true, we do get to decide our future... with the help of a standardized test:rolleyes:

Well, Im hoping to attend three different ones. Parkland College for my associates in Surgical Technology, Olivet Nazarene University for my Bachelors in Biology, and the Univesity Of Illinois for my M.D. That's why I need to do really good.

Wish I could help, but I only took the SATs and I didn't even score nearly as well on that as I ought to have. :o I'm sure if you are "student enough" to consider the medical profession that you'll do just fine. Good luck. :)

I sat the Aus equivalent about 9 months ago. Just do your best. I admit I didn't give a fuck at the time, and didn't study at all. Unbeleivably, I still got into my first course of choice at my first institute of choice. ;) GL dude.

I didn't study for it AT ALL, then I literally slept through the thing, as I'd rush through the section I was doing (they give you WAY too much time) and then nap until the buzzer went off.
As it was, I got 29 Science, 30 English, 31 Math.
It's not too hard, esp. if you have a knack for multiple-choice. Best of luck.

I got into the engineering college at University of Illinois with a 29 composite, which I thought was pretty crappy. The damn verbal sections brought my score down. But, don't worry about its pretty easy...a lot easier than the SAT or SAT II's. Just try not to get nervous about it......in my experience the more worried I get the worse I do on this kind of stuff. Don't bother studying, just have a good breakfast, do some jumpin jacks or something, and keep telling yourself in your head that "you are going to make this test your bitch ". I find this phrase to be both relaxing and humorous whenever Im nervous about a test but that's just me :D. Anyway, the more positive attitude you muster before the test, the better your score usually is. Keep that in mind and you should do fine. Good luck man.
PS- University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is great school. The only problem is that its in the middle of a giant cornfield :sun:.

ACT test scores are more or less prefered by eastern or mid-west schools...SAT are more or less prefered by western schools...
I took both the SAT and the ACT..the SAT was only english and math... They are long and sometimes hard..you will get tired of the test and want done by the time the last tests comes around...
Good Luck on them....

Julie... in all my experience, I've heard the opposite.. Eastern schools have SAT required, ACT optional, while I've seen Western schools that just want ACT. I didn't take the ACT.. just the SAT, and made an 1180 on it, which got me into my first choice college... which I hate now.. :(

That is what I always heard... In high school...they always said to take the ACT and not the SAT..because most of everyone in my high school planeed to go to a state school...but I don't know....Doesn't the big name schools prefer the SAT.
I got a 980 on the SAT...It doesn't matter what I got on my ACT or SAT because my major in college doesn't recommand you to take the ACT or SAT...
