Crazy Ideas need imput

So I'm back and with some crazy Ideas in my head :)
Ok i've been looking very hard at EFI systems for my Pontiac 400 then I ran across the mega squirt system because I'm always trying to find more labor less money approaches.
So my first crazy Idea is to design and create my own throttle body intake with fuel rails. I have a buddy whois an engineer hopefully he can help on the specs part.
I want to base it off of the LT1 intake style with the throttle body facing forward and the fuel rails sticking an injector into every port along the bottom side.
Crazy Idea #2 is one that I've actually seen before, creating my own turbo system on the car, thinking single turbo steal the specs and ideas from a sbc kit then buying a turbo, inner-cooler ect and slapping it together.
So I am looking for some input and ideas on this little venture, feel free to point out any flaws in the idea. Basically I wanna turn my 400 into the Pontiac version of an lt1 but much better :P

Edelbrock offers a Torker II intake with the injector "bosses" cast in, specifically for the use of EFI on the Pontiac. Enderle and Ron's Racing (Tucson) both offer very nice throttle bodies large enough to "feed" the big Pontiacs.
While EFI offers more efficient operation, and using all the modern electronic engine "mamangement" stuff, you can improve the fuel economy of the Pontiac, it won't make any more (if as much) power as a well-tuned carb system. Same is true of your buddy's LT-1, but he won't wanna hear that... This is a fairly common misconception about the fuel systems. From a "raw power" POV, it's hard to beat a good ol' Holley. One of our customers had the "ProJection" system on his 461. It was "dried up" at 5,600 RPM, about 800 RPM below "peak power". NOTHING he tried provided enough fuel to feed the monster. And it was fairly "mild" at about 550 HP.
There was a '69 Firebird at Pontiacs in the Park last year, with a 461 CID Pontiac, Procharger/Holley combo that goes 8.70s (1/4 mile) on 93 octane. Can his LT-1 do that? Doubt it... True, a 383 Chevy is "smaller" than the aforementioned Pontiac. BUT.. It IS a "Pontiac", so CID is of no concern here. When he removed the Pontiac and put a Chevy in there, "all bets are off' regarding displacement. I've seen plenty of 502s in Camaros get hosed down by this and other similar Firebirds with real Pontiac power.
Rather than worrying about "slapping" your bud, just build a solid Poncho. It will do all the slapping necessary... (:-

lol I know it won't up the hp But I like the idea of the efi system for the fuel economy and the engine management system I get with the mega squirt will also work with the turbo.
Ether way I go I already know his lt1 won't hang, and I wanted to make my own intake for the fun of it I've seen all the other efi systems and intakes, A modified holy commander 950 Pontiac just sold on ebay for like 600 I was depressed I didn't have the cash at the time to bid.
