Removing the crankshaft pulley

Hello I'm changing out my distributor and I'm almost there. I have removed the three balancer bolts, the book says the balancer can be removed without the use of a puller, however my balancer will not come off. Should I use a puller? And if so where should I set the arms of the puller? I also noticed 3 tapped holes on the balancer, is this where I would attach the puller? Lastly Does the balancer come out by itself or is it sealed to the pulley, in other words is it a 1 piece assembly or are these 2 piece's? By the way it's a 94... 350

use a penetrating oil on this and give it a few hours to soak in ...clean up the rust the best you can prior to using the oil...
then if its still stuck give the balancer light taps with a small hammer to get it to vibrate and it should come off...if you use a pulley as you increase the pull light taps to ease it off...not forcefully...dont want to bend it etc...

I've tried the oil letting it soak overnight using a hammer, no luck... sprayed it again tried it again a day later with no luck. What kind of puller should be used 2 or 3 clawed. Where should the claws go, onto the outer pulley ring or behind the inner balancer?? I just dont want to mess it up.

mark the harmonic balancer so you can install as it come off. then rotate the engine so that the inner triangle point is pointing up ...on the balancer ....you will notice 3 holes on the inner portion these are where a puller would be installed then pushing off ...
the crank shaft portion that is sticking out must be cleaned, sanded so that the balancer will come off with out getting stuck ..light tapping when applying pull power should do it ..
with the engine rotated as I described the opti must be pulled straight out ...you will see that if it was not rotated this would not happen ..
