my specV got smashed

I had a momentary lapse of reason, and ended up getting hit by a Ranger going about 60+ mph on the drivers side right in front of the front tire.

I'll basically need an entire new front end. My baby looks so bad!!

I just got a friggin exhaust a week and a half before the accident too! (It happened on Wed the 9th)

The good news is, that I should be able to get a CF hood, CAI, and Stillen strut brace at little or no cost out of my pocket!

Well, I guess the good news is that noone was hurt, except my pride.

Apparently no frame damage. $6500+ damage done. I haven't got any pix, I think the body shop has some, I'll see if they can email them to me.

I'll need both front 1/4 panels, hood, all internal bracing, wiring, radiator, well, hell, everything but engine and suspension!!!

wow, a 60+ mph collision with a ranger seems like it would do a lot more damage than that, I guess you got lucky. No suspension damage?

I really don't know how fast she was going. All I know is that I looked, didn't see anything, I moved forward, and I got hit. I know it was my fault, and got the letter from the insurance today to prove it. This is one instance I'd love to be wrong. The speed limit through there is 45, and I've never seen anyone go 45. At a minimum, 50, but I wouldn't doubt if it was 60. I could be wrong, but who knows!

More damage how? The whole front end is going to be replaced? I am not trying to sound snotty, but there was a ton of damage done! Not sure about the frame, I hope it is straight!!!

Well I was in an accident similar to that (except reversed) and hit a tacoma that was pulling out at about 45 or so right on the driver side front wheel. Both cars were totalled because of frame damage and I was just surprised to hear that yours wasn't totalled even though it was basically the same wreck. Well this past Saturday I crashed and hit a parked vehicle that was parked in a traffic lane. Yeah Im stupid. It all happened to fast. this is my second damn accident with my Spec. everytime this crap happens its because I fallow someone. Im not on the insurance since its sooooooooooo sky high for me. me and my dad are going to see today if they will cover it and it gets fixed. My uncle that works at a body shop called one of his buddy thats works for insurance said that it will be covered since I still live with my dad and I had permission to drive the vehicle. if they insurance decides to fix it then I want to get aftermarket parts. the whole front end of my car is smashed in except no engine damage, with also I think no frame damage since my air bags also did not come out since I slammed my breaks and I nose dived and hit the truck from behind. I hardly did anything to the truck, he just had a bent rear bumper, thats it. I didnt get a ticket neither, that was cool.


about 5-6 months ago I was coming home from work and I saw this civic that flew right by me so I decided to fallow since he was going toards my house. it took me a while to catch up since he was already at about 100mph and I was only at about 55. I had missed my turn to go home so I kept fallowing and he kept revving so we finally we got to a light together and then I asked if he wanted to race and he said no there was too many cops so I said ok and turned to go back home. But I kept in mind that I would see him again since he was so close to where I lived. This past saturday I was watching tv and saw that new MIDNIGHT CLUB II commercial and I was board so I decided to go rent it and see how it is. as I was pulling out there goes that civic. I had my windows rolled down so at the light im pretty sure he saw me and who I was since there is hardly any cars like mine around here. I said to myself I'll see if he wants to play, again I missed my turn and I floor it alittle just enough to be speeding. I see him in my rear view mirror coming up but we hit another light. we turn and he is ahead so I floor it and he douse nothing. at the next light it was a two lane road and there was a sentra on the side and he was behind it so before it turned green he revearsed and gets behind me reaaaallllllly close and I go on green regular and he changes lanes and floors it but he already had got momentum so I stayed about half a car behind for about 5 seconds till I slow down, but when we slowed down he wanted to turn like he beat me!!:eek: :mad: so I made an elegal right turn and he seen me do that so he floored to and so did I, I passed him on the right lane and I needed to get on his lane but I had slowed down alittle and he still kept punching it. I was too beasy looking on my outside windows to see if I could change lanes that by the time I looked forward the truck was already there and I slammed into it. And the civic kept going.:cry: I beat the civic but he came out laughing at the end:hehehe: :angryfire

Serves you right! Two kids just got killed in my town from street racing...when are you guys going to ever learn....you are just lucky you or anybody else did not get killed.

Serves me right? who the Hell are you? I got hit pulling out of my driveway, so that compares to some idiot kids that got killed street racing? If this wasn't a moderated thread, I'd have a lot more words for you! I had my father in the car w/me!! You think I'd be that stupid to race w/my dad in the car? You don't know anything about me!

I'd like to know, how pulling out of my driveway, and getting into a car crash serves me right? I was moving at 2 miles per hour at the most, so how does that equal racing?

i understand why you are upset but i think the guy was talkin about specvracing

Yeah, I went back in and edited it, and apologized. I could have deleted the tread, but still don't feel that anybody deserves to get into an accident. Especially after I just got into one. I know I have wished accidents on people in the past, mainly to keep them from hurting someone else, but I have really changed my position on it!

Like you said after reading it...was not directed at you...SpecVRacing, I should have probably stated that...but no biggy we all have opinions. I am not happy that he got in the accident, but like I said...it was his fault so there is no one to blame but himself. There is a time and place for racing, and there is also times when you have to back off if you are going to street race...he didn't and paid.

I am saying that don't expect to be praised for doing something illegal and then maybe something bad coming out of it. Never said you blamed anyone...just stating a fact that YOU were wrong. DO whatever you want dude....just hope all the best for ya.

Never was expecting to be praised. YOU JUST BELIEVE THAT IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO YOU. I have no shame in what I love doing. And you yourself cannot come on this forum and say you dont street race. and dont say that you do it responsibly because everytime you floor that gas your not doing something right. You might as well tell everyone here not to race beacause ther is a lot of people talking about how they beat some car out there. NOT AT THE TRACK!!, if you ask me they were just lucky not to hit another oncoming vehicle.

are their any short throw shift kits available yet for the 2.5L. sentra yet?? .. and which wepon R intake is aplicable?

Mossy has a short shifter out, one of my friends has it and the shifts are very nice, it feels very close to my B&M.

B&M is supposed to come out with one soon, but they've been saying that for the last year so who knows when it will actually come out.
