i think factory default is take it easy on the first 1500km and on the low Rpms ie 3000rmp not too sure but that's what im doing to my new lancer now and change oil every 15,000km according to factory standards

I think with an EVO you want to change the oil a lot more regularly than that...

Ive heard that performance cars should be changed at least every 10,000kms.

But, if i was going to be spending all my money on an evo 8then i would be changing it every 5,000 :)

Wouldnt you want to rev it a bit more than 3000rpm ? otherwise you'll have a nicely worn in engine, but the turbo will be almost untouched ?

Dont know much about the 8 specifically, but didnt think they boosted until about 4,500 - 5,000 ?

might 3,500 - 4,000 be a better range for running in ?
