window motor

the drivers side window motor is making like a grinding sound when it goes up or down and it is newer but the car set for about 1 year and it was put in before the car was parked and it gets so hot you almost can't touch it. any help please thanks.:confused: its a 1995 grand prix

get's hot huh? have you thought of taking door panel off again since you put it in well sure you did unless it's getting that hot inside if not that's first thing i'd do and look you may have got the wrong motor or a bad one? look at your cable see if it's shreding. it also could be in a bind. and if you cant see anything wrong take other door panel off see what's up if you want to save money.
