i fuckin hate financial aid!!! it's been pissing me off all this month and when i tried to complete it my fucking PIN number shutdown and i can't remember the damned password and all of this fucking bullshit in order to get money for college...whoever thought of the idea of making colleges cost money should have been dragged out into the street and shot....i have my mom yelling at me about it and i also have my g/f yellin at me cuz of the fact that "i'm not spending enough time with her" sorry if i need to get this done and that you're not making it any easier for me...DAMMIT i have no more patience for this damned Fafsa thing and my computer kept on freezing and i'm still not done after losing my sanity for 2 hours! Oh, honey, FAFSA isn't truly free... it just tells you if you're eligible for free money... You then have to apply for that, too. It's a nightmare. Oh, and I love how b/c my mom makes a lil bit of money that I lose all sorts of aid even though it's MY f*cking pocket that pays for college, and all the loans that I'm starting to accrue. :mad: What's more is that I f*cking hate the school I go to. They're all incompetent assholes who must have just been let out of a "special" school b/c they don't have a shred of common sense amongst the lot of them!!!!

Tangie, if you're paying for your own college, why are you listing yourself as dependant on your parents on your paperwork?

I don't have my own "residence". You may be able to live in a car (which is pretty much what I do at home), but it isn't considered a residence by government standards. :o They can claim me until I legally move out. :(

see the fafsa is the worst thing to go through especially when i don't know how to do taxes:o but what's even worse is that online when you need to get a PIN number to sign it and then send it over the net, they can't remind you of the password that they chose and if you try too many times to remember the password, they suspend your PIN and you can't get another one for the rest of the day it's downright frustrating, and it's not gonna help me any if someone goes well that's why you should always write down your password...i'd probably lose that paper too i hate it when people say that it's just useless information:mad:

It sucks that people need to get paid for working. Those colleges should do everything for free. ;) Just playing.


Its nuts how complicated they make forms out to be. It also sucks to just barely not qualify for grants and or loans too. I know I worked my ass off to put myself through school and pay that shit off in a few years. I don't know if this will help but for me it was all worth it. The few hours of headaches it caused quickly fade away. I had pretty much forgotten them till I read this post.

FAFSA= Payment for my schooling, so as long as I have it, I dont complain.

If it makes you feel any better - the poorer your are the easier it is. I am now getting paid (in excess of the pale grant... I think its spelt pale... maybe pail? blah) extra after my tuition is paid. Granted, I go to a shitty college and am taking fresh/soph level classes... it is still nice to get free education :D

My parents earned about 4 times more than the maximum income for a Student alowance- But be lucky you are getting any form of financial aid- Certainly more than what I got- and I turned our OK :)

I got an A bursary, it covers less then 4% of my fees for University, and each of my parents also earn far too much for me too get a student allowance.

And whats even better, is people who arn't even New Zealand citizens can get student allowances.

I've lived in this country all my life, and payed all the tax needed. When someone can move here from overseas, and get most of their uni payed for by our government. It makes absoultly no sense.

bah, I'll go saviour the $7 i have to make last till pay day.
