Regarding the headlights and taillights -- it seems like the problem could possibly be the headlight switch itself. Can your provide any more information? Do some of the lights work but others don't? Such as the turn signal lights, the ash tray light, glove box light, instrument panel lighting, etc -- do those work?

When you have the headlight switch in the ON position and the car off and door open does the buzzer-reminder go off? As for the interior lights and radio those likely both depend on the CLK/CTSY fuse for your year of Caprice (as well as other fuses). I know you said you checked all the fuses but perhaps double check that one again. Another possibility is that a ground connection may have become loose or has a bad connection. Also, a circuit breaker may be damaged.

It would really help if you can give more info -- also does the car start and run with no issues (other than the lights and radio?) Without more detail it is harder to determine the problem.

the turn signals work but as far as the interior lights nothing works at all i disconnected the door chime cause it would not go off i did a test probe on the head light switch thats working also as far as the car it runs fine this just happened the other night

I think that the headlight switch has a circuit breaker built in perhaps it is not functioning correctly? That is something that may be difficult to test. Do you have cornering lights? Do those work?

EDIT: Also do you think that this could be caused possibly by something else? I know you said it just happened but do you think the car was messed with or perhaps were you working on something else unrelated to electrical? -- Just wondering.

Okay, but do you have cornering lights? I ask so many questions because I have circuit diagrams here and I need to know these things in order to figure out more possibilities. Do your instrument panel lights work (not just the bright light so you can see the speedo. but the warning lights like the "check engine" light when you first start the car?

Also, please do not double post your question -- I know that you want to get answers now, but we provide this as a courtesy and we help for free. We cannot always answer instantly. It will not help to double post.

I have a couple of chores to take care of and will be back in under an hour please be patient.

If you smell an electrical fire or electrical burning kind of smell near the trunk then I would suggest not driving it until you find the problem. It is possible that those wires keep shorting and that is perhaps making a circuit breaker on the fuse block stay open (off). I would expect the fuses to blow though but it is possible.

I would try to find where this burning/shorting is coming from; you may need to pull back some of the fabric in the trunk, but a group of wires to the taillights should be visible on the driver-side of the trunk. If you don't find anything there it could be somewhere in the taillights (you need to unscrew the taillight assembly and look in there).
