Just replaced the crankshaft position sensor on my 1999 Ram 1500 and now it knocks when in park or drive (not in reverse though). The knocking speeds up when I accelerate and truck starts to cut out.
Any ideas? The CKPS seems to be tight, and I did not remove anything to get to it so the only change was the CKPS.
Thanks in advance!

P1391 Intermittent Loss of CMP or CKP.
Loss of the Cam Position Sensor or Crank Position
sensor has occurred. For PL 2.0L
I'm not familiar with this but if mine did this, I'd let a Pro check it out. It's less expensive than rebuilding the bottom end.

Thanks for the reply. I actually took the new sensor out and took it back to Kragen for an exchange. Put the new-new one in and it works like a charm! Guess I just got a bad one.
