Short weekend at R A

Went out for the practice session Saturday morning and found out real quick that the set up I have with running gear is not the right one. I have found out that the car has a .80 5th gear in my Tremac 5 speed transmission and a 389 rear end. I red lined 4th gear between turns 5 and 6 and was in 5th at the bridge on the back straight away and red lining shortly past the bridge. All this happening with a 6200 Chip. I am looking for a 350 chunk for R A and a 310 to take to Daytona and maybe VIR.:banghead:

I have run RA and Daytona with a 3.50 and it was fine. I use the 3.89 at sebring, Homestead, Mid-O, PBIR and Barber

I know last year that in my WC car I had a 389 rear but I had a .67 5th gear in the 5 speed Tremac transmission. With that being said, I would still run out of RPM's going down the hill into 10a and b. I'm not sure but will try a 350 first and see what happens. I do not want to change anything in the transmission. I think the 389 that is in the car now will be ok for CMP of Barber. I will probably get a 323 to go with the 350 and one of them should work for Daytona, VIR and possibly Charlotte. One thing about the Tremac transmission I know have, the .80 5th gear in a lot different than the WC car.

I was thinking about you all weekend Mike. Almost drove over to see how you were doing but jobs around the cabin keep me busy. Glad you were OK, rained like a bitch all weekend out here.

FWIW, I'm in 5th gear between 5 & 6, downshifting to 4th as I enter 6 and then down to 3rd going through 7. I'm a little supprised you redlined 5th on the back straight... I've never red lined 5th anywhere but maybe my kajonias aren't as large as yours...

I guess this was your first race with the new GTS? Aside from unfamiliar gearing, how did you like it?
