Well, I left my girlfriends house tonight about 11:30 in good spirits...made an equally spirited turn onto county road 55...and proceeded to accelerate down the road. After cruising at 110mph, I noticed a car was gaining on me. That's right kids, gaining. I had been popped. So I braked, put on my hazards and pulled over. He was really nice, and he was alot calmer than the last cop from this city that pulled me over(you can search that one up). Anyhow, long story short he asked if I had anything in the car, gave me the dog test, you know "is there anything you need to tell me about before I bring a drug dog down here"....anyhow after that he said he was going to cut me a break and gave me a ticket for 85 in a 55 and called it "failure to observe prudent speed" instead of reckless driving. Gayness factor: 7 out of 10. And just to save your fingers the work, I know it was dumb to go that fast, and I normally don't. I was just having a little high speed fun, and I was actually slowing down anyway when I noticed him coming up on me. So he told me if I would pay that ticket and promise to drive safely he would let me go with that ticket. Just another day in my exciting life I guess. Oh, btw my girlfriend is extremely angry at me. Your prayers are appreciated :D

that must suck. my friend got pulled over in his chevell the other day for 85 in a 55, he passed the cop cuz it was going slow, he didnt know it was a cop, the cop got on his ass, so he floored it, and when the cop pulled him over, he told him that he did that cuz he couldnt see with his hea dlights in his mirror, and that there was no place to pull over to, so the cop let him off

must suck for oyu though

Yeah, definitely "gay", he should've written you for at least 100.

:) Gayness factor WOULD have been 10 out of 10 if he HAD written 100. However I thought a 7 would cover not only the gayness of me getting a ticket, but also the gayness of me doing something stupid. And yes, I'm using the word gay with negative connotations. Meaning neither happy nor homosexual, but lame. If that offends you, then I'm terribly sorry....to tell you that I don't care. :)

Usually stricter than that, and yes, he did. Good to see he's grateful for it.

I got my first ticket a month ago, 140 km/h in a 100km/h. Although the officer let me off easy with a $115 dollar ticket. Maybe she let me off because I was polite and respectful or whatever, but whatever it is I am glad she did. I shouldn't have been going 140 in a 100 anyways. Dumb move by me.

i haven't gotten a moving violation yet and i don't plan on getting one until i at least have my license. (yes i do drive without a license) (yes i do obey traffic laws) (and no it's not worth not getting my license till i'm 21 to go speeding around in my car)

I've had a couple of similar incidences... I've been pulled over more times than I can remember, and I've gotten 2 tickets. The ticket stories are connected, so I'll explain.

I was driving from my hometown to Mass, where my base is (Air Force). I was doing about 120 on a deserted stretch of highway, when I saw an SUV in front of me. Big deal, I slow down to about 110 and pass him. Big mistake, Blue lights come on and all I can think is Fuck, I'm going to jail (30 over the limit is reckless driving/driving to endanger, and automatic arrest). The cop wrote my ticket down to 93mph in a 65, and all I had to do is pay a fine of $150 or something like that. Paid it, end of story... almost. Almost 7 months later, driving my minivan, I got pulled over for having a headlight out. The officer was really nice, 'cause I had one of my uniforms hanging in the back window. He went back to write a repair order, and run my license (standard practice with all violations) Come to find out, I was driving with a suspended license. My payment had either never made it to the state, or they had cashed the money order and never marked it off my license. I never got any letters or anything letting me know about it. The cop, after hearing me curse for about 10 minutes, Called a tow truck to take the van to an impound lot for storage until my husband and his parents could pick me up, in 3 hours. He could have taken me to the station to wait, but instead he dropped me of at the Portland mall with a citation to appear in court. Now, in Maine, there has to be a cop at the courthouse from the police station, and preferrably the one who gave you the citation for it to stand up well in court. The judge has the final say, but the cop is very important. I showed up in my dress blues. The Judge called my name, and his expresssion was priceless when he saw me in uniform. Then he called the cops name. Nothing. He called it again. Nothing. The judge looked at me again and asked if I had anything to say. I explained the situation, and got off with absolutely nothing, (except for an extra day off of work). Anyway, not all cops are evil. I hope that if I ever get stopped in maine again, it is by that guy.

i love being a juvenile. i got my first ticket in feburary 2002 for going 56 in a 35 120 dollars. i did not pay until after my fourth time being pulled over for a headlight out, the officer did the standard check on my lisence and found out that there was a warrant for my arresst and my lisence had been suspended, so he wrote me a ticket for no headlight and driving on a suspended lisence and told me to take care of it on monday because i was under 18 and he did not want to take me to jail. monday came i went to the court paid for my tickets and warrant. the thing is i did not know you had to pay a reinstatement fee for your lisence. so i drove around for a few months until about august when i got pulled over again. the cop told me to go take care of it, the next day and he would let me go,so i agreed. but this time i let time slip by and didnt take care of it. i got pulled over again, this time the cop did the same thing but said there was a warrant for my arrest and told me to go get a taken care of because he didnt want to go through all the hassle of whatever. then a couple of weeks ago my headlight went out agian and i got pulled but it was state cop who was a complete jerk the whole time. he arrested me put me in the back of his car and drove me to the adult jail, when he foundout iwas under 18 he said he would drive me home. so i was in handcuffs for about 3 hours in a cop car while he went throughmy car looking for whatever and writing me out about 7 tickets that i have to go to court on tomorrow. oh well. the sooner i get this taken care of the better i think it s going to cost me over a thousand in fees and probally a billion hours in community service oh well i hope somebody else like me learns the importance of paying you tickets on time and honoring the law.

glad to hear you've learned your lesson civic. I've always payed my tickets on time. If you don't here, there'll be cops hunting you down around here.
