ok, i know this place is littered with questions about swapping motors, but here is one more. i have an 89 bird with the stock v6 and i want to put a 5.0 in it. i know a lot of ppl out there will say just get one with a v8. 1. this car is soooo clean (which is rare in the salty nw pa region.) 2. i love the 89 and they didn't put v8s in them that year. 3. i could soup up the six, but parts are expensive for this and mostly custom. 4. i hear that a 91 tbird 5.0 will fit as simply as any swap-out. so, that said, i want to do this. i have time and a garage. the first real thing i wanna know is what ALL do i need to do this? if i can find a donor i will, but i may not in this area. it may be repetitious, but i have not yet on the internet found a complete list of the parts and efforts it will take. can i use the v-6 tranny? or can i modify it cheaply? or do i need a new one altogether? anyone out there who has done this or similar and documented it well? i would love to find it. anything will be helpful. i have a good idea of what i need, but i hope to know everything for sure i need. and if i get this answered then i know it will help others. there is not that much out there that is complete enough and that's why this question is so often asked.
