p1406 on 97 GA 3.1L

Hello, did anyone have any experience with this code? I know there is a lengthy procedure how to test this etc. but I am just wondering if anyone had this code and found some shortcut for solution. I did have one extra EGR laying around which I already installed. Month later code is back.

The position and flow sensors are all in the same unit. EGR flo must be o.k. since no p1401 code. All you can check is the harness. 12v at the pink, 5v PCM reference on one of the greys and the brown is EGR position to PCM.

Just sounds like you have 2 bad valves.

this is not tripod egr it has only one valve, any other ideas?

I understand it's not a tri-valve. Your 3.1 for '97 should have a 5 wire harness connector, the position and flow sensors are integral.
