'93 sunbird won't shift all the time HELP!

At first the car wouldn't shift onto OD so I checked the fluid and it was low. So I added fluid. Now today it did the same, checked fluid and it was fine. After I let off the gas it shifted into OD. Then after making a stop it wouldn't go over 45mph, so I'm guessing 2nd gear. Then after another stop it wouldn't leave 1st gear, finally it went into 2nd but then I was home. What is wrong with it?

This is an interesting problem. So can you get into first when you are at a stop? Does the clutch release? If so is the shifter just stuck? We need a better description to help with this one.
