The service parts identification label is located on the glove box door and contains information like the Vehicle identification number.

GM manual lists only one location for full VIN number..that is the one on the plate under the windshield in front of driver. No refernece is made to VIn numbers being stamped on the frame anywhere. Only other place is tag on glove compartment door

thanx for the help, but we managed to get it sorted. The problem was that they needed an imprint from the chassis and lucky for me they allowed me to stamp the numbers on the chassis myself ( can you believe it). It was the only way i could get it registered here in spain. It took a lot of arguing to get it done so be aware if anybody wants to inport a car here.I was very lucky other people might get stuck with a car that they cant reregister. :evillol: peteski

...( can you believe it)....
....where is their logic.... Just for the fun of it....where did you stamp it? can you provide a picture? I do not remember anyone from Spain on the forum before; your experience can help others.
....The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plains....:iceslolan ...Anyone remembers that?

I thought it was just in Sweden there were such crazy rules.

I had to punch the chassis number into of the inside of the left front fender. Original plate in the front window was no good, nor the German plate on the inside of the right front fender from the car's time in Germany.
