Dome light question

My brother has an 04 maxima and the dome light doesn't come on when the rear doors are opened. Is it supposed to come on? If someone could please check on theirs and get back to me I'd appreciate it!

Do the inside red side marker lights come on? If not, loose connectors smwhere
