I have a 1999 pontiac montana that developed a intermediate problem. When you start it and drive it ( short or long distances) then turn it off, it only cranks when you turn the key. Let it sit for about an hour or so and it starts right up. any suggestions?

I think you mean 'intermittent'.
Fuel supply problem, I'd say.
The fuel pump is priming, so I'm suspecting a faulty fuel pressure regulator or a faulty check valve (If there is one) on the pump.
Locate the regulator and remove the vacuum line from it. If fuel comes out, replace the regulator.

pulled the line off the regulator and there was no gas present. I am going to check the fuel pressure on Sat. will post findings

what were your findings? Our 2002 is doing the exact same thing, usually in hot weather....so frustrating! Hooked it up to a diagnostic and it came up as low oil pressure....
