Painting Question

Ok, so I've got my body primed, and its sitting in a enclosed box waiting to dry 24 hours. So I thought I'd get started on the other parts of the kit. Do you guys usually go thru and paint all the other parts then start glueing them together? Also, I went to walmart and bought a testors airbrush, its pretty darn cool. Have a couple questions about mixing the thinner/paint, it says 3 parts thinner to 2 parts gloss paint, how exactly do i measure that? It came with a little pipette, do i use that to measure? so for every 3 pipettes full of thinner i add 2 pipettes full of paint? Another question, do you usually brush paint the smaller pieces of kit? or do you use the airbrush for that too?? Thanks for the help!

Hi, let me try to answer some of your questions;

I first get the parts of the trees, taking away mold lines and the painting them, wait a bit and glue them

the pipette should do the trick , although some avid air brushers prefer to dot with a little spoon, see as you like , as long as you have your ratio, should be fine

I personally brush the little parts, and details. The brushpainting is quick, clean and you don't have to mask anything.

If possible, glue anyparts together that are to be painted the same colour.....example being engine block halfs etc.
This allows you to sand and fill any join lines etc before painting.

ok cool thanks for the help..one last question..do you paint the parts while they are still on the tree or do you take them off the tree to paint them? And if you take them off the tree to paint them, what do you use to you to hold them with, ive tried it that way and always have trouble holding the piece to the paint the whole thing.so i guess it would be easier to just paint it while its still on teh tree no?
