To be quite honest, I don't think any of them will sell for the price they're listing them at. Personally it's not in my tastes but just because it's rare, doesn't make it valuable. "RARE" is used too loosely on ebay.
I'm sure someone will chime in with the whole "rare items and what they're really worth" schpeel (don't expect them to be positive about it either :cwm27:).

Its a $10 kit. Not rare at all. Nothing that Tamiya made in the last 15 years could be considered really rare, simply because they made at least 10000 copies of each kit. Rare means that you can't get one even if you exhausted all the possible sources and were willing to pay ridiculous price for it.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

There was a french guy in Jabbeke last year selling one (body painted in white, everything else sealed) for € 12,- asking price. Late sunday afternoon it was still there and I stole it for € 8,-
The wheels and tires are quite nice, as are the seats (Recaro). Oh, and it has a nice 16V antenna (as seen on Golf Mk2 GTIs). Everything else went in the trash. I really like 4x4s - but there was just no way I could be convinced to built this ugly thing.
So, yeah... whatever someone would be willing to pay for is what you'll get. Your probably best off finding a VehiCross owner, offering to build his/her ride with matching license plates for @ 100,-
Just my 2 cents...

I think you can get probably anywhere from $20 to $30 if you wait enough for a potential buyer, the price would be reasonable.
I think the kit is still out in the market and not many people are crazy about Isuzu...

Check completed auctions. The last time the kit was sold on eBay was Feb 27 with the ending bid of $15.65 after seven bidders competed, so that's the kind of price range at this moment.
According to Tamiya website, the item isn't designated as the "spot" status, so it should be a current item. I guess they just don't manufacture very many of it each year.

What about the vw mk1 rally kit? Thats pretty rare going up to at least 40 bucks each time on the bay.

I don't know. Expensive - yes. Rare - hardly, if you still see them for sale.

40$ for an OOP kit is not expensive when you look at how much new kits cost nowadays.

Oh well, I only paid $15 for the sealed one I have so no problem there.
US version has very different interior than the Tamiya kit. A friend has a black Vehicross and calls it the "moon buggy". Very futuristic looking when it came out. Pretty agricultural driving/riding experience.
I built this when it came out. It got a ton of attention at the time:

Those wheels looked good on it then. Today...they look awful

What a disgusting looking beast...and I thought the Porsche Cayenne was horrid! Why did Tamiya waste their time and money making this when they could have been developing another nice 1/12th racing vehicle?:crying:
