Ok heres my problem hope you guys can help. I recently did a complete tuneup. on 4.3 new wires, plugs cap and rotor, new coil even new distributor also module problem is now when car warms up a little or when driving it start making a loud tapping noise it idles fine. code comes up 41 electronic spark timing open. will not reset. what could that be? thx for your help

found the problem after taking everything apart 3 times. asked a gm tech. and he told me its was either a bad ignition coil or module to change module and clear code. come to find out the part store sold me the wrong module to begin with. so from now on I will look part numbers up online and order do a in store pickup

Unfortunately this happens often with sales people that do not have enough experience with cars.
I always look up the part #'s before going to the store just to be sure and to save a trip back to get the correct part while you are in the middle of the job.

I sure miss the old school auto parts stores, those old guys behind the counter sure knew their stuff..:shakehead
