Hi,
1997 Chrysler Town and Country w/ 3.8 and AWD. I have a stripped nut on the rear Carrier assembly (Differential). I was thinking of removing the carrier and grinding sqaure corners on the nut. How do I take the unit out? Thanks

EDIT:
Unit loks like it has been leaking from the drivers side area for a while. Recent snow storms and my curiousity have shown that the AWD is still working. : )

I have a 1998 AWD caravan with 321000kms on it. The driver side of the rear diff has been leakind slow for 6 years. I bought the seals and planned to fix some time ago. However the leak while it looks bad is about a quarter of a quart from the diff every year. Its not that material on mine anyway. If you drop the spare wheel the filler for the rear diff is at the back. Check the oil level and top up. The oil should be at the level of the filler the same as a manual gear box. Note the power transfer init ahead of the diff uses tranny fluid.

Let me know how bad your leak is but they all seem to leak a bit.
