Car Alarm Repeatedly Going Off

I have a used 1999 Ford Taurus. I've owned this car since September. For some reason tonight, the car alarm keeps going off. It went off 6 times in 30 minutes. I watched through one of our windows and nothing is tampering with or touching the car. I think it is a factory alarm system.
What could be causing this? Is there a way to turn off the alarm?
I shut off the alarm with the remote and unlocked/locked the car several times. It kept going off. I finally went outside, started the car and let it run for a few minutes. It's now been about an hour since it last went off.
The alarm has only gone off on its own once before and once i shut it off with the remote, it stayed off. The car does seem to have some electrical problems, but it has had those the whole time and the alarm has just become a problem.

Welcome to the forum!
Try searching the forum for keyword "ajar." There is a known issue with the switch in the door latch (often the most used driver's door) which can cause this. You'll want to treat all the latch assemblies, including the trunk/liftgate.
