03 neon SXT CD changer problem.

The car has been running fine. We let it set for about 5 days due to cold, snowy weather. when we went to drive it today, the battery was totally dead. This has never happened before.
Anyway, got it jumped, took it and had the battery charged and tested, all is fine.
The problem now is, the CD changer will not work. I cannot play or eject any cds. all I get is ERROR displayed on the radio. When I try to use the cd player, all the lights on it just blink. The radio works fine by the way.
Now I have searched the internet and found a lot of people with the same problem. Once they have removed and replaced the battery, the cd changer no longer works. but nobody has posted a solution.
Does anybody have any idea what the problem is? In most of the post I found on the internet, they just suggest buying a new one. I don't think anything is wrong with it, maybe just need to find a way to reset it or something. Too many people have reported the exact same problem caused from the exact same thing.

Thinking out loud, Does Dodge use radio Security codes like GM?
From what I can tell, no they don't.
Also, the radio works fine, just the cd player won't play.
