I have 2000 yukon xl with the 5.3 liter engine. The truck has 140k. When its cold out the truck sounds like a tank when you start it. It doesnt sound like all the lifters just one or two on the driver side. Once it warms the oil pressure drops from 40 gradually down to thirty. I had this issue last winter and didnt drive the truck at all. So i drove the truck all summer no problem, most of the winter no problem, i just changed my oil a week ago and the place did not have the Quaker state high mileage oil. So the sold me the QS 4x4 blend in a 10w40, swore it would be just as good, welp it sounds like a tank again at least the oil pressure gauge stays over 35 now. Please help

sounds all normal to me. the oil pressure drops because the oil breaks down and or warms up. chevy knows all about the cold start tick and people been complaining about it forever. it is perfectly fine in their minds.
try a synthetic oil if it bothers you that much.

it does it for 5-10 minutes and its so loud and embarrassing. Loud like a car with a bad donut gasket

before it started doing the ticking taping sound, the pressure was steady on 40

Mine ticks a bit too. I guess it's normal. If you really want to get rid of it, Restore worked for me. I just let it warm up for a while, then it goes away. You don't really need to use Restore, but it should take care of it.
