Hey Guys, CHECK YOUR MIRROR BOLTS !!

Sounds stupid right?

Well guess where FoMoCo F'd up.. the side mirror bolts are NOT rustproof and to make matters worse,
the front bolt sits in a well that fills with water every chance it gets !!!

So, before it's too late, rock your side mirrors backwards and check the front bolt for rusting.
Lately we've had a rash of mirrors falling off 'cause the bolts rusted all the way through :yikes:

A very long time ago I did a write-up on the subject after I noticed brownish drainage from that area during a wash cycle.

Yup, mine did that last summer. When I taped off the entire car to repaint the window seals, I removed and noticed this common problem. Easily fixed withb nuts and bolts that I had laying around.

I noticed the same problem on my 95 that I striped last year. Some stainless bolts should help wit the rust. Not at all an improvement from the old metal body mirrors from 90 to 94. The only gain is a larger mirror which is nice.
