Hello to all. I have a friend that removed his battery to work on his other pick up. Battery was out of vehicle for about two hours. He reinstalled the battery and now the truck stalls during stops. Off idle, truck runs fine. Will only start if you give it a lil gas. I am thinking it may be the IAC trying to "reset" itself. It only stalls during
'off throttle" stops. Seems like no fuel or too much air which leads me to think of the IAC. Is there a procedure for resetting the IAC. I think I recall driving at a rpm of about 2500 r's but I am not sure.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance

There is a certain drive cycle to reset it.
But try to.
Take it for a good long drive and run at different speeds.
Let us know how it goes.
It should reset itself.

removal of the battery for any length of time should not effect the idle...as far as the re- learning this will not effect the idle ..The IAC does not need to be reset unless it was removed and the valve was rotated which is a no no....
with this issue I would look at the MAF wires/air ducting or any other wires damaged/disturbed during the battery swap out...
check all fuses just in case !

Hello to MT-2500 and all.
MT-2500 sold the burbie with 4L80. The one with no shift.:)
As for the Silverado I posted about, I will have him take it on the freeway and drive. I told him that yesterday. He is Not a "good one footer" ;) let alone two footer" driver. LOL
I will also inspect the butterfly and wiring. We cleaned the contacts on SIDE POST battery. Told him to switch over to top post. Red Top Optima Battery is installed and charged.
Funny thing is,a ll he did was take it out, I was there supervising ;). Other problem was that the other truck is a v6 and getting the pressure side power steering hose is a bugger. Super tight. cut the line to get socket on it, not moving. So tomorrow we are gonna take off the the pulley and pump and get er' done.
Thank you again for the replies and I will keep you posted.
How ya been MT? I "retired" from busting knuckles pretty much:smokin:

Took truck on freeway and drove about 4 miles. Took her on a nice side street and drove pretty hard. Runs like a champ now.
Thank you again for the replies.

Thank you MT! He had asked me about the cable replacement order. I did not think it mattered.
