??Engine Issue??

Was driving yesterday on a back road and came to a part into the road where it had buckled a few spots in the road. Not really huge ones but enough to make some pretty good bumps in the road. Didn't have a lot of time to stop for the first couple. Anyways got about 5 miles from home when i looked down at my gauge cluster and noticed my service engine soon light was on. No idea if it came on before or after i hit the bumps. Didn't notice much while driving but thought it was kinda lacking "get up". Pulled in driveway and parked. Then attempted to restart and it wouldn't. Tried a few more times and was able to get it to start but when i did it would it would kinda chug and sometimes stall. Just went out and tried again and it start but was still slightly chugging. Pressed the gas a few times and the engine accelerated normally but was not driving so it didn't have the full load on the engine.

Just finished up replacing some things a little while back:
fuel pump (delphi)
fuel tank (aftermarket, decided to get a can of rubber and coat the outside of it to stall rusting a little longer)
fuel filter
sending unit
spark plugs (ac delco)
spark plug wires
o2 sensors
cap & rotor
had the timing checked and adjusted (it was 12 degrees off)
air filter
water pump (just did 3 days ago)
thermostat

at first i thought it might have been the water pump doing something from the shock of the bumps but everything checked out as it did when i finished it.

One problem i still have ongoing is once a while when i start and stop it there seems to be a rattling sound coming from the exhaust right after the manifold. Or it sounds like. Haven't really checked into too much yet but going to step it up now. Possibly a cat problem??

You might look under it and see if anythging is damaged.

If check engine light is on check for codes and post back code no.

I went out a couple hours after starting the thread and it started up fine and the service engine code. does the computer store the codes for a little while??

Yes code will be strored in history if check engine light is not on.
If light is on it will be stored as present code.
Post back code no.

Did you jack it up and block it up and have a good look under it?

Was that speed bumps or other bumps you ran over?
