which turbo

Looking into Vortech supercharger, drag gen 3, or the greddy kit. need to get some opinions from owners of these products. i own a 2000 gsr.

Trust me, go turbo. I would say that any kit using Garrett turbos is a good bet. Greddy makes good kits from what I hear, and they use Garrett most of the time.

Why not go with a custom turbo kit? If any, though, the greddy kit is nice. Are you looking for a street car or something to be competetive in the street class at the track.

DRAG Gen III is the best of the three you listed in my opinion. Lots of experience with the kits, good installs, come with most parts you'll need, and they're very reliable and the DRAG people are great to work with. Only drawback with that system is its high price:( But you get what you pay for with kits!

I like the Drag Kits, that's what I installed on my brothers Civic Si. I am having problems with the turbo though. I've had to send it back twice because of problems with it holding oil. When it was right (just after first installation) the car made good power and had a pretty smooth powerband

Just curious..did you get the car dyno tuned after you installed the kit? Or are the Honda kits a plug and play type of install?

Drag kits: garbage, IMO. bad castings for manifolds result in cracking, poorly rebuilt Turbonetics turbochargers, and the fuel management system is among the least reliable in the industry.

Greddy: they use MITSUBISHI turbochargers. all brand new parts, quality fit. i have NEVER had a problem installing any of these kits on any cars. plus, the fuel management system is top notch for a piggy-back computer with upgraded injectors for proper fuel management. plus, if you have a problem, GReddy tech support is a phone call away... Drag cant say this, as they dont even feature a website.

Vortech: great supercharger systems. the aftercooler is a must, and is a great design to maximize power. belt drive has it's advantages over turbos, and the Vortech is known to significantly increase power over the other supercharger brand.

well greddy doesn't come with an intercooler so i would go with an f-max kit or a turbonetics kit.

Theres a kit for a GSR from Procharger thats out now. It's a centrifical with an air to air intercooler. They say they have the most efficient intercoolers on the market. It runs 8-9 PSI and gives a 70-75% gain. But think, get a header, highflow cat, and atleast 2.5" exhaust you might double your HP cuz those numbers are for a stock GSR and the exhaust is so restrictive. Go to Procharger.com and click on the "sport compact kits" with a picture of a Civic SI. If these gains are true this is the best product on the market for a stock GSR. The Vortech kit gives you about 243 HP and costs about 3500. Running 8 PSI on a turbo might get you 275 if your lucky. The cost for the Procharger kit is 500 more than Vortech, but its safer cuz of intercooler, and gives way more gain(close to 300 HP). Thats better than a turbo kit can do, and costs about the same as the FMAX kit, is more reliable, and has no turbo lag. Can it get any better? OK maybe Price.

And I'd also like to add if I had a GSR this is the kit I would get, but I only have a LS:(

If you're looking for low-cost, you can find a used T25 turbo off an old DSM.

If you want HUGE boost, go 16G.
