Alright guys, this is the most helpful site i know and hopefully you guys/gals can come through for me again.

Here is my problem:
I have a 95 grand am that has a leak on the driver side. Everytime i get in the car there seems to be water under my floor mat. I have already replaced the heater core on the vehicle because it did go bad. But this liquid is just water. It doesnt have any odor other then a smell of wet dog kinda..lol. I have perfect pressure on all my gauges and all my fluids under the hood are at the right level. What is going on with my car?

All i can think of is that i did drill a little 1/2in hole to run my power wire for my subs. other than that everything else is stock. Also there is no water on the passenger side, just the drivers side. I noticed when it rains a lot more water seems to be evident then before the rain.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks guys your the best

I have the exact same issue. I have come to believe it is the firewall that is leaking.I used all kinds of glue and caulk to seal up any holes. But it still leaks. but only when it rains or when I wash it. I don't the the answer to fix it but if you do, please let me know.

Here's how I fixed my water leaks on the drivers side. Pull the seats, carpet and cut the rubber firewall inner cover under the steering column so you can pull it back and see where the water is leaking in. Use someone on the outside with a water hose while you're inside. Pull the plastic cowl cover and wiper motor. Chip away all the seam sealer on that side of the car inside and outside the cowl area. At the lowest point behind the little rubber flapper that drains water out of the cowl area, I had a hole rusted thru. Above that plate on the forward side of the fire wall, just under the wiper motor, I had 3 more holes rusted thru. The seam sealer was all intact, but had loosened and water collected under it, and rusted thru. It's very important to chip away ALL the old sealant. You can't see the holes unless you do. Also, under the carpet where the water leaks, the floor area had lots of rust. Clean the rust, treat and stop it, prime and paint. then reseal with high quality seam sealer, preferably from a calking tube. It's thicker than the brush on. Leaks cannot be stopped without lots of work. Make sure you can see where it leaks in, then it'll be easier to fix. Good luck, it can be done.

Hi, I have a 95 Grand Am Gt (love the car) It had the same problem. Water always on the floor board. I had to remove the wiper blades and plastic cover at the base of the windshelid. Heres what I found. The sealant was bad and had to be removed and replaced. I posted some pictures.
Another place to look for leaks is the frame that runs along the inner fender, (sticks out about 2") Where it meets the fire wall, Theres a little cup area that water and road salt lay in. This was rusted out on my 94 Grand Am Gt. It's just under the brake master cylinder. It can also rust at that spot on the passinger side under the heater fan too.
Also check to make sure no one cut the rubber boot at the passinger finder where it meets the front of the door. Wires go thur it. This is a know place for kids to run the wire for there amp boom box power. I had a kid cut it to run the wire for my daughter. (Water Leak)
If that doesn't work just start checking the rubber boots.
Hope this helps some of you out! I know this is a problem that haunts may a Grand Am Owners! I have had 4 Grand Am's in total. All three of my kids had one. It was easier to fix and keep parts with them all having the same car. All of them have had water leaks of some kind. Good Luck!
